Opaque Bottom Bangers

An Opaque Bottom Banger is a type of quartz dab nail which has a white bottom. This white coloring is caused by sandblasting clear glass, this causes slight cracks in the glass. These slight gaps are filled with air, which results in white coloring and in better heat conductivity when heated with a butane torch .

The slight gaps within an Opaque Banger which is caused by it being sandblasted, make the glass less thick, and easier to heat with a butane torch. This makes opaque bangers faster to heat up and reach your desired temperature.

The same thing that makes opaque bottom bangers great, is what makes them a bit of a pain. The small cracks which create faster heating, also make the darn banger cool down quicker. This can be good when utilizing an insert and attempting to achieve a low temp dab. Using a banger which transfers the heat quickly to the insert allows for easier temperature regulation. 

Dabbing with an Opaque Bottom Banger is similar to dabbing with a clear bottom quartz bucket banger. The only significant difference is that the banger will heat up and cool down faster than a clear bottom banger. This allows for more direct temperature regulation while torching during a dab. With other bangers you may find a delay between torching and the dab reacting to the heat. With Opaque bottom bangers, that time delay is shortened. 

Therefore, when dabbing with an opaque banger...

1. Heat the banger with a dab torch for 15% shorter of time than you would a clear bottom quartz banger. (clear usually 30 seconds, opaque usually 25 seconds)

2. Allow the banger to cool for 30% less time than you would a clear bottom banger. (clear usually 30 seconds, opaque usually 20 seconds)

3. Scoop your dab with your dab tool

4. Place the dab inside the banger

5. Carb the banger

6. Inhale

7. Repeat until dab is complete or skip to step 8

8. Swab the banger clean
