Bucket banger inserts are utilized for a multitude of reasons. Dab bucket inserts keep the banger in better condition, preventing chazzing, while keeping the banger clean. There are many different styles of bucket inserts, from shapes to materials, all with their own advantages. The ruby bucket is one of the more premium dab bucket insert options, namely due to the material its made of.

Ruby has specific properties which make it ideal as a dabbing accessory. From its durability to its efficient heat distribution the ruby bucket is of the best dab bucket inserts on the market today, especially in its price range. Ruby as a material is almost identical to sapphire except it has the presence of chromium which gives it its red color. Since chromium is preset in ruby dab inserts, they will change color based on temperature similarly to a thermochromic banger!

Ruby is chemically inert which helps to maintain the flavors of your preferred concentrates! They are also a tad bit see through which helps with cleaning. This tends to be one of the downfalls of using a darker colored sapphire or sic dab insert, its harder to see where the residue is! Dumping the insert into a dunk tank filled with isopropyl alcohol for a few minutes then cleaning with a dab swab, is an easy way to clean the insert.

This insert is intended to be used with 25mm bucket bangers, or any banger with an interior diameter of at least 20mm. Now let's break down the properties of Ruby and why it has excellent heating properties, especially in high-temperature applications, such as dabbing:

1. High Thermal Stability: Ruby has a very high melting point (around 2,000°C or 3,632°F). This makes it highly resistant to heat, allowing it to withstand extreme temperatures without breaking down or deforming, meaning it will be in your dabbing collection for a long time to come.

2. Efficient Heat Distribution: Ruby, like sapphire, has a high thermal conductivity, which means it can distribute heat evenly across its surface. This helps prevent hot spots and cool spots which ensures that the dab will vaporize uniformly, for the best flavor and cloud size.

3. Low Thermal Expansion: Ruby has low thermal expansion, meaning it doesn’t expand or contract much when heated or cooled. This property helps it resist thermal shock, reducing the risk of cracking when exposed to rapid temperature changes, which is vital for its longevity and durability.

4. Durability and Scratch Resistance: Ruby is an incredibly hard material, scoring 9 on the Mohs scale of hardness (just below diamond). This makes it resistant to scratches and chazzing, which is especially beneficial in maintaining the surface integrity for consistent dabs, even with frequent heating and cooling.

WARNING: Don’t use rubbing alcohol or any cleaning solution while the insert is hot, doing so can cause thermal shock and crack the insert. Use a dry cotton swab and heat to clean. Do Not apply a direct flame to the ruby insert or it will cause thermal shock. Slowly heat when dabbing and allow time for the insert to cool inside the banger. We recommend 550-600 Degrees Fahrenheit for low temp dabs. Anything above 600 Degrees Fahrenheit can result in rapid cooling once the heat is no longer being applied and stress the insert.
