The reclaim catcher is one of our favorite additions to the world of dabbing hardware and accessories, effectively collecting your reclaim in a low-effort way so that you can repurpose it as desired, while making it easier to clean and maintain your overall setup. Although there are various reclaim catcher styles available, all of them fulfill the same purpose and function in the same general way. That being said, it is important to know how to use this accessory properly to get as much out of it as possible.

A Guide to Using a Reclaim Catcher

The good news is that the process of using a reclaim catcher is actually quite simple and intuitive, assuming you’ve purchased one that’s high in quality and compatible with your setup in terms of size and attachment style. Once you have your reclaim catcher in your possession, just follow the steps below.

Step #1: First, attach your reclaim catcher to your nail or banger according to its attachment style. Your reclaim catcher may come with user instructions that ensure you attach it securely and properly. From there, you can attach your nail or banger to your rig as you normally do. Also, keep in mind that some dab rigs come with reclaim catchers already attached.

Step #2: Dab as you normally would. As you’re dabbing, reclaim will automatically collect in the catcher.

Step #3: Now, you can simply remove the reclaim catcher once you’re done dabbing and collect the resin that’s inside. Use a scraping tool to get all of it out, so that it can be repurposed or stored for later use. It can either go back into your dab rig, or it can be integrated into your dry herb sessions by being placed on top of the flower in a pipe or in paper.

Note: You can also use reclaimed oils to season a new banger or nail, and this is quite common practice. Or, you can simply incorporate it into a recipe for edibles. Now how awesome is that?

Step #4: Finally, clean your reclaim catcher. Because it’s made of silicone, it cleans very easily by wiping it down with alcohol, giving it a good rinse, and then letting it air-dry. From there, you can reattach it to your nail or banger for the next session. Also, because it’s made of silicone, it’s virtually unbreakable. This means your reclaim catcher could very well last for a lifetime.
