One common mistake made by dabbers is utilizing a titanium dab nail with a borosilicate glass rig. Titanium dab nails heat to such a temperature that it causes the dab rig joint to crack or break. You can avoid this by using either a silicone reclaim catcher or a silicone dab rig. You can also use a hybrid rig as long as the dab nail joint is silicone.

Reclaim begets reclaim, so once you have a small amount of reclaim, more reclaim is sure to follow.

This is why keeping your dab rig clean is so important for an efficient dabbing experience. Once the percolators start collecting reclaim, the pull will get stiffer. Each dab will become less efficient, and you will lose some vapor to the dabbing angels. Reclaim catchers for dab rigs prevent this waste and help prevent needing to clean the dab rig as often.

Dabbing with a clean rig is the best way to have an enjoyable and efficient dab every time. Cleaning your rig whenever it begins to become dirty will help prevented wasted dabs.

The best way to clean a rig is with a pipe cleaner, isopropyl alcohol or ethanol alcohol. Fill up the rig with the cleaner and shake. To prevent spilling the liquid its best to attach cleaning plugs or cleaning caps. Shake for 1 minute, then allow 3-5 minutes for the alcohol to soak the rig, then shake again for 1-2 minutes.

Spill out the cleaner, rinse with water for 1-2 minutes then allow time for the water pipe to completely dry before filling and using.
