Terp Pillars

A Terp Pillar is a thing and long piece of quartz or gemstone (like ruby, sapphire or SiC) insert designed to drop into your quartz banger, typically a Terp Slurper or Control Tower nail. It dramatically improves your dabbing experience by spreading the dab evenly throughout the chamber for even and complete vaporization. Terp Pillars range in diameter from 3mm to 6mm and height of 15mm up to 50mm. 

When placed inside a Terp Slurper or standard quartz banger, the Terp Pillar works by spinning and moving as you inhale. This movement forces the concentrate to spread evenly across the hot walls and the pillar's surface, ensuring all the oil is vaporized evenly and efficiently. Pillars help prevent pooling, hot spots and cool spots. This means you get thicker, more flavorful vapor clouds from your concentrates, even at lower temperatures, leading to a more efficient and enjoyable dab.

Terp Pillars are commonly made from high-quality materials such as Quartz, or gemstones like Sapphire, Ruby, Silicon Carbide (SiC) and even Moissanite. For the absolute best flavor enhancement and heat retention, many users prefer Moissanite as it not only helps to spread the dab but moissanite also heats up enough to help vaporization.  Although high-quality quartz remains a popular and cost-effective choice.

Hollow terp pillars allow for dabs to flow inside the terp pillar, those lessens the amount of dabs spread at one time and can help elongate the dab, making it better for milking a dab. Hollow pillars do require more cleaning because dabs within the hollow portion may not fully vaporize and will need to be cleaned. Solid Terp Pillars are one solid piece, they spread dabs most efficiently and require less cleaning than hollow pillars. Solid pillars are better at retaining heat for better vaporization, which is most noticeable with moissanite pillars. 

No, while they serve a similar purpose in maximizing vaporization, Terp Pillars are distinct from dab pearls (also called terp balls). A pillar is a single, cylindrical insert, while pearls are small, spherical balls. Both are types of quartz or gemstone inserts that spin inside the banger to spread oil and improve the dabbing experience, but their shape is different.

They perform the same function but pillars are more suitable for taller thinner bangers like control towers and terp slurpers to effectively spread the dab where terp pearls are best for wider bangers like dab nails, bucket and blender bangers. 

To maintain your Terp Pillar's performance and flavor enhancement, it should be cleaned after every dab, ideally using Dr Buzzkill’s Mini Dunk Tank which allows the pillars to be soaked in Isopropyl Alcohol and cleaned with a cleaning brush. Cleaning the pillar while warm makes it easier to clean.

Proper cleaning prevents residue build-up, which can degrade the flavor, effectiveness and durability of the pillar. 

The correct Terp Pillar size depends on the specific dimensions of your banger. For Terp Slurpers and control tower bangers, the pillar diameter should be a maximum of half the diameter of the lower chamber and no more than 75% of the lower chamber's height. This allows for proper spinning while not putting too much pressure on the middle marble and pushing it up.

Yes, Terp Pillars are excellent for better vaporization with lower temperature dabbing. By evenly spreading the dab throughout the banger’s heated surface it helps for even and efficient vaporization. Some terp pillars like SiC and Moissanite can heat up enough to even help with the vaporization. 

This allows you to vaporize your concentrates thoroughly at lower temperatures, which preserves the delicate terpenes for superior flavor enhancement and smoother, less harsh hits.
