Each nail has its own benefits but as with everything in life, there are no solutions, only trade-off's. Quartz nails offer the best flavor and are the most affordable, however they are also the most fragile and have the lowest heat retention.

The market offers ceramic nails at a fair price. They retain heat and transfer heat moderately well. They are quite durable, but they do not provide the best taste.

Titanium nails are the most durable, heat the fastest and holds heat the best but offer the least flavor of any nail style. With Dab Rig Nails, titanium nails also offer the most sizing versatility with universal fittings.

There are two different cleaning cycles for nails. One is in between or after a dab, the other a deep clean. In between dabs, you can clean a nail either with a heating cycle or with a dab swab and isopropyl alcohol.

To clean with heat, just heat the nail until all the residue vaporizes. This will leave the nail clean, however there are downsides which include degrading the durability of the nail.

To clean with a dab swab and isopropyl alcohol, start by using the swab on the nail. This helps clean the nail as much as possible. Then soak a new swab in the alcohol and clean the nail inside and out with the soaked swab.

To deep clean a nail, first use the heating cycle or the dab swab cleaning method. Then, let the nail soak in alcohol for 30 minutes. After soaking, clean it with a swab.

Depending on the dab butane torch and nail material, heating time can vary. The recommended general time is 30-60 seconds dependent upon desired temperature preference and dab size. In general lower temperatures offer more flavorful vapor and higher temperatures offer larger clouds.
