How does this calculator work?

Start by selecting the glow color of your banger when the torch was removed. Then enter how long you waited before adding your dab. The calculator estimates how much heat the quartz loses while cooling and the additional temperature drop caused by room-temperature concentrate contacting the quartz.

What Happens When Concentrate Touches the Quartz?

Room-temperature concentrate absorbs thermal energy from the banger. Larger dabs generally cause a greater temperature drop.

Important: A quartz banger does not need to be visibly glowing to still be extremely hot. Quartz can remain hundreds of degrees above normal dabbing temperatures after the visible red glow has disappeared.
