Solid Terp Pillars

A solid terp pillar (or terp pearl/pillar) is a solid, typically cylindrical accessory made of quartz glass or gemstone materials like ruby, sapphire, or moissanite, which is placed inside a quartz banger before dabbing. 

It works by spinning rapidly when air is pulled through the banger, evenly distributing the dabs across the heated banger walls. This results in more complete vaporization, better flavor, and larger, more consistent clouds while preventing oil waste, making for a smoother, more efficient, and flavorful dab.

To use a solid terp pillar effectively, terp pillars are typically used for control tower or terp slurper bangers; the instructions here are primarily for those styles of quartz bangers.

1. Drop the terp pillar inside the banger before heating or adding your concentrate (for cold start dabs, place the pillar in first, then the dab, then heat the banger.)
2. Place the carb cap atop the banger. 
3. Heat your banger to your desired dabbing temperature.
4. Add your dab to the banger dish.
5. Inhale

For longevity and clean flavor, clean your terp pillar after every session.

Handling: It is best to use the Terp Pearl Grabber to handle terp pillars
Immediately After Use: Grab the terp pillar while still warm, not hot, and wipe it down with a dab wipe.
Deeper Cleaning: Soak the terp pillar in a container of 90%+ isopropyl alcohol (ISO) for 30-60 minutes. Ideally use the Mini Dunk Tank from Dr Buzzkill with its built-in strainer designed specifically for terp pearls and terp pillars.
Rinse: Remove the pillar from the ISO and wipe off any remaining residue with a dab wipes like Reclaim Relief Wipes. Rinse thoroughly with clean water before drying completely with a lint-free cloth or paper towel.
Avoid heating terp pillars that are not completely dry, and always make sure to completely dry the pillar before placing it back inside the banger.

Terp pillars can in theory work with a plethora of banger styles; however, they are only ideal to use with terp slurper and control tower-style bangers. Choosing the proper terp pillar size is crucial to enable the most efficient dab. The rule of thumb is to use a terp pillar, which is a maximum of 75% the height of the chamber in which it's being placed. 

The width of the terp pillar should be at a minimum of 2mm smaller than the diameter of the slot in which it is placed. This will allow for proper spinning, will prevent the pillar from getting stuck, and will prevent excess reclaim from going up into the neck of the banger. 

Terp Pillars do not retain heat or aid in the vaporization outside of properly spreading the dabs for even heating. There is only one style of terp pillar that can absorb heat quickly, and that is moissanite. Terp pillars made from other gemstones like ruby, sapphire, and emerald may retain slight heat, which helps spread the dab but will not get hot enough to vaporize the dab.
